USS Electra Crew Reunions were started in 1972 by the late 'Whitey' Marders, a WWII veteran, who continued to manage them until 2004, when Heidi Lubben, granddaughter of another WWII veteran, Bob Rechkemmer, took over the duties.

At the 2008 reunion, those present voted to plan the next reunion for September, 2009 in the Quad Cities area: Davenport/Bettendorf, IA and East Moline/Rock Island, IL.
4 WWII veterans and 5 Korean era veterans, plus assorted family members, attended the 2008 Reunion, in addition to an all-too-brief drop-in by Bob Michaels, whose teaching schedule prevented him from staying to participate in the reunion activities.
5 WWII veterans and 7 Korean era veterans, plus assorted family members, attended the 2006 Reunion. We had some who went on to become lawyers, educators, engineers and other professions, some who made the military their careers, including one who switched from the Navy to the Air Force (but it's okay, Jack, we're still friends!).
